    Despite their small size, <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/index.php?s=adapt+nyc">NYC's first (official) tiny apartments </a>have been generating a big buzz. <a href="http://www.wired.com/2015/12/nys-first-micro-apartments-actually-look-kinda-comfortable/">Wired</a> recently got a sneak peek at what the interiors of the <a href="http://www.carmel-place.com/?gclid=CjwKEAiAhaqzBRDNltaS0pW5mWgSJADd7cYDFjWYxhnwk7LAFMq6_qvuG-QrlBk0ui051CvZ52RNpBoCpobw_wcB">Carmel Place</a> (a.k.a. My Micro NY) micro-units <a href="http://www.wired.com/2015/12/nys-first-micro-apartments-actually-look-kinda-comfortable/">will look like</a> courtesy of <a href="http://www.stage3properties.com/">Stage 3 Properties</a>, the housing solutions company that <a href="http://narchitects.com/">nARCHITECTS</a> and <a href="http://monadnockdevelopment.com/">Monadnock Development</a> partnered with on the project.     Tenants will also be able to enjoy the perks of <a href="http://www.stage3properties.com/">Ollie</a>, an “all-inclusive living experience” developed by Stage 3, which will come included in their monthly rent. The new lifestyle-integrated living concept comprises things like the luxurious furniture in each apartment, housekeeping, Wi-Fi and cable, and a personal “butler” service.

    Located at 335 E 27th Street in Kips Bay, <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/nycs-first-prefab-micro-unit-apartment-building-begins-to-rise-in-manhattan-photos/" target="_blank">Manhattan's first micro-apartment building</a> is a pilot project launched under the Bloomberg administration and the NYC Department of Housing Preservation &amp; Development in order to address the demand for affordable single- or double- occupant dwellings in New York City.

    The development captivated the attention of New Yorkers with its prefabricated, 250- to 370-square-foot units, and recently made headlines again when it was announced that the cheapest studios <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/take-a-video-tour-of-nycs-first-micro-unit-building-with-apartments-starting-at-950-a-month/">would rent for just $950 a month</a> (depending on the resident's income). 40 percent of the 55 apartments in the building have been set aside as affordable housing (with rents going up to $1,492 a month), while market-rate studios start at $2,000.
