  • Top Ten Lamps From New York Design Week
<a href="http://inhabitat.com/new-york-design-week/">New York Design Week</a> may be over, but we're still digging through all of the fantastic designs we spotted from <a href="http://inhabitat.com/reclaim-x2-nyc-designers-team-up-to-create-one-off-works-with-proceeds-going-to-sandy-storm-relief/">Manhattan</a> to <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/our-favorite-green-designs-now-on-show-at-bklyn-designs/">Brooklyn</a>. This year's design exhibits showcased scores of <a href="http://inhabitat.com/tag/led-lights/">LED-illuminated lamps,</a> proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that <a href="http://inhabitat.com/tag/led-lights/">LED lighting</a> is the future, and we were hard pressed to find any energy-sucking <a href="http://inhabitat.com/tag/incandescent-bulbs/">incandescent bulbs</a> casting a shadow on the festivities. But which green lighting designs stood out amongst the bunch? Inhabitat's intrepid reporters were on the scene to scope out the best and the brightest of the next generation of green lighting. From a <a href="http://inhabitat.com/mooois-raimond-chandeliers-burst-with-dozens-of-tiny-led-lights/">hanging pendant lamps exploding with LEDs</a> to <a href="http://inhabitat.com/tucker-robbins-transforms-indonesian-fishing-baskets-into-beautiful-pendant-lamps/">beautiful teardrop lights</a> made from recycled Indonesian fishing baskets, check out 10 lamps that really shone bright at this year's <a href="http://inhabitat.com/new-york-design-week/">New York Design Week</a>!

<h3><a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/photos-bower-debuts-fun-flexible-magnetic-polaris-light-at-bklyn-designs/">Bower's Magnetic Lamps</a></h3> <a href="http://bowernyc.com/">Bower</a>'s geometric <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/photos-bower-debuts-fun-flexible-magnetic-polaris-light-at-bklyn-designs/">Polaris Lamp</a> is made from faceted pieces of scrap wood built around a LED light. A magnet concealed within allows these flexible lamps to stick to any magnetic surface - so they can easily be positioned for ambient flair or focused task lighting. <br /> <br /> <big><a href="http://bowernyc.com/">+ Bower</a></big>
