Top of the LEGO TowerRule Britannia! A UK team from LEGOLAND Windsor have smashed the record for the highest LEGO tower (previously held by South Korea) after putting the finishing touches to their 32m (105 ft) high behemoth. The tower was constructed with the help of thousands of volunteers who all helped to build the towering structure, but the final pieces -- nine Team GB LEGO Minifigures -- were put in place by the Danish LEGOLAND modelmaker team who travel the world with the tower.1
World's Tallest LEGO towerThe challenge of building the world's tallest tower from LEGO was first started in 1988 when a 15m (49 ft) tower was built in London.2

Final touchesAccording to official figures, the structure comprises over 160 sections using more than half a million LEGO bricks and, of course, the nine minute LEGO Minifigures.6
