Berimbau Tower for Rio by Luis de GarridoLuis de Garrido has come up with a fascinating design for low-energy multimedia telecommunications infrastructure that could be used at both the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. Primarily a telecommunications tower, the Berimbau also has a five-story spherical attachment with an extraordinary LED skin that can project images. Each level in this building has a different function, including recreational, retail, and office, and bioclimatic conditions are controlled with a combination of passive design and cutting edge technology.1
