Recognizing this trend, Sony recently unveiled its new multi-functional <a href="http://www.sony.com/electronics/life-space-ux">LED bulb speaker</a> to the East Coast US market at the <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/index.php?s=architectural+digest">Architectural Digest Design Show</a> in New York City. A compact combo that meshes together the light-producing capabilities of an energy-efficient LED bulb with the sound-emitting qualities of a speaker, the new offering allows users to save space and bring music into areas of the home like bathrooms and kitchens where installing speakers would otherwise be a hassle.1

Sony LED Speaker BulbThe 360-lumen LED bulb can be screwed into a standard light socket, making it a wireless alternative to traditional speakers. Since it takes up no more space than the bulb itself, it's particularly well-suited for small spaces or rooms with limited surface space.4
