With more and more folks opting for smaller living situations these days, the demand for products that do twice the work while taking up half the space has been growing steadily. Recognizing this trend, Sony recently unveiled its new multi-functional LED bulb speaker to the East Coast US market at the Architectural Digest Design Show in New York City. A compact combo that meshes together the light-producing capabilities of an energy-efficient LED bulb with the sound-emitting qualities of a speaker, the new offering allows users to save space and bring music into areas of the home like bathrooms and kitchens where installing speakers would otherwise be a hassle.

The LED bulb speaker is one of four new products in Sony's Life Space UX line, which aims to better people's lives by liberating them from some of the restrictions placed on them by devices that are currently available on the market.

The 360-lumen LED bulb can be screwed into a standard light socket, making it a wireless alternative to traditional speakers. Since it takes up no more space than the bulb itself, it's particularly well-suited for small spaces or rooms with limited surface space.
