Tsuyoshi Kawata designs a charming curved house in Japan

The house has several crescent-shaped apertures that offer glimpses out to the lush green park. A natural timber frame gives the structure a warmer feel and enters into a dialogue with the neighboring architecture. The windows, also timber-framed, provide views of the garden, while a small decked terrace can be accessed from the study.

Two floors contain living and dining areas, master bedroom, which is at ground level, and a playroom and study located on the smaller upper level. The bedroom is located in the front part of the house, while a double-height space that runs along the back of the plot contains the living areas.
