Shell Eco-Marathon Laval UniversityThe seventh annual <a href="http://www.shell.com/global/environment-society/ecomarathon.html?gclid=CK3n2YWqwLYCFe7MtAodZ2oAUw" target="_blank">Shell Eco-marathon Americas</a> concluded on Sunday, as student teams from across the Americas raced their energy-efficient vehicles on a street circuit designed specifically for the marathon in downtown Houston. Students from <a href="http://www2.ulaval.ca/accueil.html">Université Laval</a> in Quebec, Canada won first place after their prototype vehicle CT2.0 travelled 3,587 miles on a single gallon of gasoline. This was the fourth time in the past five years that the Laval team has taken the top prize, and in doing so it broke the marathon’s mileage-per-gallon record.1

Alden-Conger High School Shell Eco-marathon Americas 2013Six subcategories include: gasoline, battery electric (which includes solar), gasoline alternative, diesel, alternative diesel and hydrogen.4
St. Paul's School Shell Eco-Marathon Americas 2013The Back to the Future 2, vehicle number 211, UrbanConcept, running on Battery Electric, competed for team Wolves on Wheels from St. Paul's School.5
