- Tiny 90 Square Foot Manhattan NYC ApartmentWe've seen some pretty<a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/index.php?s=tiny+apartment"> tiny apartments</a> in our time, but we were absolutely blown away when we came across New Yorker <a href="http://felicecohen.wordpress.com/">Felice Cohen</a>'s itty bitty, teensy weensy, 90 sq. ft. studio on the Upper West Side. The <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZSdrtEqcHU">12 foot by 7 foot apartment</a> definitely isn't for the claustrophobic, but we think Ms. Cohen manages to live there in high style. Plus if you consider that she only pays $700 a month for her miniature pad (in a neighborhood where monthly rents average about $3,600), you can see how her decision lets her live large in other ways. Step <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/womans-impossibly-tiny-90-sq-ft-manhattan-apartment-is-one-of-the-smallest-in-nyc/90-square-foot-apartment/?extend=1"> into the gallery</a> for a glimpse inside this well-organized, bantam abode.1
- Tiny 90 Square Foot Manhattan NYC ApartmentWe knew the <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/brooklyns-tiniest-apartment-is-only-29-inches-long/">small apartment</a> trend was taking off when we recently spotted this <a href="http://inhabitat.com/nyc/photos-see-inside-the-tiny-391-sq-ft-model-apartment-at-the-ikea-brooklyn-store/">391 sq. ft. model home pop up at a Brooklyn Ikea</a>, but that looks almost mansion-like compared to Felice Cohen's <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZSdrtEqcHU">90 sq. ft. UWS studio</a>.2
- Tiny 90 Square Foot Manhattan NYC ApartmentIn this <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZSdrtEqcHU">video </a>by Faircompanies.com, Ms. Cohen explains that she wanted to live in Manhattan but she didn't want it to consume her whole bank account.3
- Tiny 90 Square Foot Manhattan NYC Apartment"I'm sure there's some compromises, but it's worth it," she says.4
- Tiny 90 Square Foot Manhattan NYC ApartmentWhen <a href="http://felicecohen.wordpress.com/">Cohen</a> first moved in, the woman who was living there before her had filled the tiny space with furniture, and she knew that was definitely not the best configuration.5
- Tiny 90 Square Foot Manhattan NYC ApartmentLuckily, Cohen was able to leverage her skills as a professional organizer and build up. She lined one wall of her studio with shelving, which also cleverly incorporates a desk.6
- Tiny 90 Square Foot Manhattan NYC ApartmentThe opposite wall is exposed brick and provides a nice backdrop for a cozy reading nook.7
- Tiny 90 Square Foot Manhattan NYC ApartmentSo where does Ms. Cohen sleep? As you might have guessed, she climbs a ladder up to a comfy <a href="http://inhabitat.com/tag/eco-loft-bed/">loft bed</a>.8
- Tiny 90 Square Foot Manhattan NYC ApartmentAlthough she said that she had a panic attack the first night she slept there, she now loves it and finds it to be a peaceful space where she can relax.9
- Tiny 90 Square Foot Manhattan NYC ApartmentThere wasn't a <a href="http://inhabitat.com/7-smart-and-easy-tips-to-green-your-kitchen/">kitchen</a> in the apartment, so Cohen created her own - a mini fridge, a toaster oven that doubles as banana storage and a hotpot.10
- Tiny 90 Square Foot Manhattan NYC Apartment"In New York City, most people store their laundry in their stoves anyways," she rationalizes.11
- Tiny 90 Square Foot Manhattan NYC ApartmentWe think she has a point and since she only pays $700 a month, she probably has a fair amount of her budget left over to allot towards eating out. And she still has room to do yoga and work off the calories.12
- Tiny 90 Square Foot Manhattan NYC ApartmentThe bathroom is actually pretty roomy but there is a bit of a kneebump when you first sit down.13
