Williamsburg, Brooklyn is currently known for being a hipster haven, but Heritage Equity Partners is hoping that their proposed office building will turn it into a tech mecca. Planned for a site that spans the entire block between North 12th and North 13th streets on Kent Avenue, the ziggurat-like Williamsburg Generator will be a massive 400,000-square-foot glass “transformative technology and maker hub” geared towards fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the neighborhood.
The Williamsburg Generator will have space for about 3,000 employees, and will seek to nurture startups but will also have office space for more established brands.
Led by Heritage CEO Toby Moskovits, the tech hub will be an asset to the historically industrial neighborhood. “Williamsburg is overflowing with like-minded entrepreneurs seeking a new, innovative campus that fosters creativity, collaboration and innovation,” Moskovits said. “With The Williamsburg Generator, we are going to build a transformative technology and maker hub that will set the stage for a new era in Williamsburg.”

According to the project’s website, the Generator will be built in a warehouse-inspired style with modular spaces and large floor-to-ceiling windows. And in true Williamsburg fashion, the building will also incorporate various green energy features.
