Artist r1 beautified Johannesburg’s urban fabric yet again with his recently completed reclaimed wood art installation. Commissioned by the owners of the new Betty Fox grocery store in the Maboneng Precinct, the large geometric wood mural breathes new life into an old neglected wall. The Betty Fox artwork stretches over 20 meters in length and 2.5 meters in height and it’s made up of 120 reclaimed wood panels sourced from local businesses. The treated and varnished wood pieces are fixed to the wall with over a thousand steel industrial bolts.
