It’s no secret that we dig Sustain miniHomes. Inhabitat has always appreciated their sustainable spin on the mobile home and have eaten up their eye candy since the beginning. The California edition features 10-foot ceilings and a larger Master Bedroom than any other 12WIDE models.  The new model sells for $134,990  and comes complete with all millwork/cabinets, plumbing fixtures and appliances. It also features 12VDC Lighting Circuits, and a 4kW Inverter for ‘plug-and-play’ connection to renewable power sources, such as Solar (photovoltaic) and wind. The HVAC system is comprised of an integrated, tank-less domestic-hot-water system and air-handler that has a total annual carbon footprint of less than 0.5 Metric Tons annually (almost 20 times less than a conventional home). Optional multi-fuel (biodiesel) systems are available. All woods are FSC-certified and formaldehyde-free.

Sustain miniHomes, in collaboration with Dwell on Design and Healthy Buildings USA, will be constructing a model of the California edition for visitors to check out in person as  part of the special Dwell Outdoor pop-up community.  Sneak a peek here or better yet, go check out the real thing in Los Angeles from June 26th to June 28th, where the lucky Californian who purchases the inaugural 12 x 36 model will receive a 25% discount.
