The Pearson’s three vertical wind turbines are produced by Urban Green Energy and are capable of providing power for all of the building’s common areas. While many New York City buildings are crowded by neighbors, The Pearson sits right next to a large train yard, ensuring unobstructed air flow around the 14-story tower. Unlike the more traditional windmill-like turbines many of us are used to seeing, UGE’s models spin vertically, allowing for a more compact construction.

In addition to its use of wind power, The Pearson Court Square offers a host of green features from solar power panels to dual-flush toilets to multi-level landscaped terraces, and is pending LEED Silver certification. Other amenities include over-sized windows to take advantage of daylight, a 24-hour attended lobby, a rooftop deck with city views, a fitness center and yoga studio, an outdoor basketball court and bike storage. The building is also located just a few blocks from the E, 7 and G lines as well as the Long Island Rail Road. Studios start at $2,150.
