Retro Lights Knitted into Colorful “Uplifted” Lampshades by
Deryn Relph's 'Uplifted' design makes use of knitted textiles to 'upcycle' old retro-style lamp frames. Her eclectic use of color was inspired by the future potential of seeds to bloom, and her designs are meant to evoke a positive emotional response from the viewer. The knitted textiles use factory surplus cotton and bamboo yarns, and are custom fitted to eliminate production waste. The knitting process creates patterned perforations across each lampshade, resulting in a playful colorful glow. The shades themselves are sure to bring a pop of color to any room and can be used for pendant, table, or floor lamps.
